B&G Macaw stuff
Ok so I originally was going to get a B&G macaw then my breeder convinced me to get his miligold. Soon after that I realised I still want a B&G and it turns out that my breeder was a very horrible person who was only in it for the money. Now I found a new breeder with B&G macaw eggs and I want to know if the cage I was going to get for the miligold would be good for the B&G the cage is Double Macaw Cage 64w x 32d x 73h with Removable Divider". Would that work? Also what should I do for perches if I get that? do they sell perches that long?

As for perches...most cages usually come with at least one full-length dowel-type perch. You will want to add others in varying diameters and textures...my birds all have at least one manzanita "tree branch" style perch, one concrete/nail trimmer perch, etc. These types of perches will bolt onto one side of the cage with large washers and wing nuts - they don't have to go all the way across the cage. You may want to also look at rope perches, swings, etc. B&G's are clowns and love to hang, swing, etc.
Good luck!! -SB

I have a double macaw cage for Tigo. er...he gets both sides of it to himself. Not that he's spoiled, it's my daughters fault entirely. Bad daughter! /whistles
I use manzanita perches - yes they come that big. I use rope perches, a cement perch, and a really big boing made by the company that does the orbit toy. That's Tigo's normal spot too, the boing. At night, he sleeps at the top, during the day, he hangs around the middle. It's like 50 bucks, but worth every penny.

you can also buy dowls of various thickness and length at home depot or lowes. My husband buys them and either puts screws in the end to attach to the plan stands or notches for the cages, and cuts them into smaller pieces for toys. THey are less expensive this way then buying from the pet store.

Sorry Seth I allready have everything I need ready now I am just waiting for my breeders macaws to lay eggs. She says they are in and out of the nest box so thats a good sign but nothing so far. But she is a good breeder she lets you visit the birds and she says when I go to visit she might even let me bottle feed mine!
