Great shots. Georeous birds!

I would be more worried about the pool chemicals in the water and on them, rather than flight. Though a clipped bird can fly, macaws when clipped definately have a harder time of it.

They seem to love it. We were first concerned about the chemicals but have been doing this for quite sometime with no ill effects. They will actually get out and walk back to their perch on the porch. Spoiled rotten...

While that may be true, it is still a health issue. THose chemicals are harsh, even breathing them in. Macaws have a very sensitive respitory systems, which is why we don't even use aerosol sprays, candles, or even teflon pans.

While you may not see anything now. later down the road there may be residual effects from "eating" those chemicals while preening thier tails. We are not supposed to ingest those chemicals without calling poison control, so I for one would not allow my birds into a chlorinated pool.

Take it for what it is worth, but I felt the need to post the warning, being that someone else may do the same and have a sick bird and then say " well so and so did it withh no problems". People see those types of pictures, like birds with dogs and cats and think it is ok, and then something ends up happening and they come back and say why.

Great pictures.

I don't want to seem rude for going offtopic, but what do people do at parrot club meetings? Do they bring their parrots with them?
