Not preening himself at all

We've been watching Harley and notice that he does not preen himslef. Ever. Even after the lights are out. I don't think he knows he's supposed to. I thought it was an instintual thing but maybe not? How can we get him to preen?

I thought maybe if we moved Jade and Harley's cages to the same room he could see her preen herself and maybe learn from her?

Have you tried baths? Misting? I've yet to see a bird that won't preen after a bath.

My Romeo is the same way. I'll soak him to the bone and he'll just sit there and let himself dry out. Most of the preening he does is when he's got new feather coming in or one that's bothering him, he does rarely preen himself just for the sake of preening but it's not often at all.

Have you preened him? I preen mine all the time and he loves it. He even preens my hair. They do preen each other in the wild. Maybe if you show him what he needs to do , the instinct will kick in? Give it a try
