Wink Yellow on B&G's wings (pic)

Hi all! I thought that the pale yellow on this B & G's wings was so striking, I just had to share.
I've never seen this on a B & G before... I'm told it could be from some distant relative that may
have been a hybrid.

Could also be food related, and perhaps stress bars? I know someone that says their scarlet gets yellow/white stress feathers instead of black.

I do agree that macaws get "stress feathers". My macaw when I got him got them but his were very very dark blue/black. They have gone now but deffinetly they show stress in their feathers!

That yellow tailfeather is gorgeous! Also, probably pretty valuable if you put it up for sale on Ebay....

I know someone else whose BG has several yellow flight feathers on one wing. It's simply a color mutation. Mabird, your bird's yellow feathers may or may not return with the next moult. Provided its diet is good, it's not on any medications that might cause the feathers to color differently, and an AV has pronounced it healthy, my first guess would be that your BG has a color mutation. I've seen photos of some pretty amazing color mutations in BGs that have nothing to do with having other species in their backgrounds. They are all purebreds.
