Mabird,
One Trick that I can suggest that has worked for Us in the begining is a broom stick,
So when ever Majestic is on top of his cage use the broom stick for him to perch on,
You can try putting it next to him but Smarty Lucky used to just step over the stick so I used to put it next to his chest and then he used to step up and I would then put him on his cage.
You never answer my question about his Age.

Quite a handsome bird! It's a shame the lady has allergies I couldnt imagine saying goodbye to mine. It's very nice of you to step in and give Majestic a loving home. Best of luck!

She's deffo pretty, but I'm so with you on being scared... I'm a 6'4 male and I almost poop at the sight of those beaks.

Is your trial period for as long as you want it to be? I'm sure she'll come around in time, but she'll probably try and intimidate you just because she knows she can eh?
I think if she stops being a little turd she'll figure out she's in the best new home she could hope for.

I went to visit my new hahns, Mimi today... she's tiny, but seems to have the big macaw personality though...

I have had teal for 9 weeks now and we still have a LONG way to go. But he has bonded to me the most and HATE'S hubby

It will take a lot of time and patience on your part.
Teal also tried to "bully" me and scare me. The one thing you can not do is show fear. Once they see you are afraid they will take complete advantage of that and you! No one want a "bratty" bird.
Looking more at your photo's her tail feathers are roughed up some, and the coloring. Perhaps she is stressed, also watch for flushing on her face. I found with Teal that he LOVES when I sing to him. Try sitting by her cage and do that. They act like bullys and act very mean, but with Teal I have found 99% of the time it is all bluff and when I tell him tobe nice he stops!

Best of luck.

Blushing

Hi. I have noticed that she does blush a lot around her lil' nostrils, the corner of her mouth and around her eyes... her previous owner said that that is a sign of nervousness. Correct?

Nervousness, Excitement, Anger, whatever. They blush a lot. At least ours does. And it's not all nervousness. She blushes the brightest when she's excited.

Also, do not underestimate the power of a shared meal. You may want to eat your dinner beside her and share some. I think Huntress mentioned that was a step forward in developing her relationship with her adopted Macaw, Calypso. I know my 2 love to share bits and pieces of whatever we're eating.

Basically, I think you need to take it slow, and let her acclimate to her new environment and learn to trust you. Remember, her owners mentioned you were the one stranger she was ever really good with. She probably likes you, but her world has just been turned upside down...
