Red face Clowning Hahns

I am wanting a Hahn. I am not at a place where I can take on the challenge right now, though I will one day be 100% ready to provide a safe, stable, stimulating home for a Happy Hahn. I've heard all the pros and cons though and know that I would love to take it on. But what I love most are all the stories of people with their funny Hahns and their clownish antics. They always make me laugh.

Until I can get one, will you please make me laugh with the funny stories about your Hahns?

I just want to hear more about these little guys and their owners fun/trials/moments with their Bully/Buddy Birds.

Yes, it's awful waiting! We go visit him every weekend but it's 50 miles each way, so I will be MUCH happier once he's home. I really miss him during the week!!

Hahns, I love mine. He is my litte buddy/bully. He would be content to just sit on my shoulder all day long if I let him. I swear he is the smartest bird I have. He knows everybodys name. He has an "amazing" vocabulary, he is potty-trained... self taught, every week he says something new. He wants to be very social with the other birds although for the exception of the new Blue Crowned baby whose relationship is slowly blossoming the other three would kill him. He blows kisses and then says "thank-you"... I blow kisses and tell him "thank you." He tells me when Dewey wants to come out... he says "nite nite" when I put him in his cage at bedtime. He counts to three. After every commercial jingle he yells "whoo hoo." He bobs his head up and down and plays peek-a-boo. He hums and dances with the radio. He is one of my two birds that actually tell me "bye bye" when I leave for work in the morning. And all day long whenever he does or says something wonderful... He says "Deweys a good boy." I could go on and on all day. He is truly a gift from up above. My mother bought him for me when I lost my long time love, Roxie a blue crowned conure I had who passed away in January 2008. I never thought he would ever grow on me as much as he has. He is the last bird I pull out to spend time with at the end of the day after supper. He is my "unwinding" bird. He is the last one to get put up at night and covered. I tell him I love you Dewey and he almost always replies with "nite nite" "I love you too." I simply adore him. Hes a charmer. Sorry the post is sooooooo long.

lol i wish it were longer! i want one so badly. i am going to start building up for a fund and then next year i should be living in a city with a good avian vet and breeders to chose from as well as settled into an apartment with a job (this my last year in college). I'll have enough to get him a plethora of toys and a good, big cage, as well as a manzanita play stand.

I dont do things unless I can do them all out!

Thanks so much for sharing!

More funny stories would be appreciated.

Yes, for little birds they do require a "larger than you would think cage." They need lots of boings, swings, perches to climb on as they are quite acrobatic. They do need to be handled alot as they can be quite nippy at times. They definately have that "BIG BIRD" mentality but are such little sweethearts.
