pudding+ whipped cream = birdy heaven!!

wow!! i bought some sugar free fat free pudding for my diet, with fat free whipped cream. and i gave sunny and skye some (non chocolate of course!) i have never seen two birds so happy about anything. i put down one small dish of a huge table spoon, now they are fighting to lick the bowl. wow!!!! skye is actually hodling the small cockatiel bowl in her foot licking off every single corner of it!

As a former vet tech I urge you to stop this immediately because aspartimine will kill your bird as well as all artificial sweetners will kill all animals.

Agreed -- artificial sweeteners are a big no-no for pets... and really aren't healthy for humans, either :(

That is so cute!!!! I can just picture them fighting over some pudding and whipped cream... Now that's something to get on video!! LOL. I usually give my birds a spoon with ice cream on it, and they'll lick it like a lollipop.

phonelady61, although you may be correct, I think that the nature of this board is to be friendly to one another, so even though you're trying to protect another person's birds, would it be possible to say it in a nicer way? I don't mean to sound rude, but this forum really needs to work on the "friendlyness" factor.

Okay well I am sorry but who speaks for the animals then ? I thought this board was for the welfare of the birds and did not want to see someone kill their animals . Pardon me for caring about someone elses birds .

let's please keep this on the topic.... personal attacks and counter-attacks do not help anybody, nor do they benefit the birds.

sometimes an honest, blunt answer can be misunderstood - nevertheless, all is written, and we're not able to see the person's expression nor hear the tone in their voice.

we would appreciate it if both sides could be a little considerate of this - maybe phrase facts a little different, but at the same time try not to read something into a post

thanks, bee

I don't touch the stuff & get on my soap box often about it, but to each his own ... it's always something anyway.
It sounds like your guys really enjoyed the treat. Mine just finished fighting over orange juice.

Another concern is the ingredients in fat free whipped topping. It has absolutely no nutritional value (which may be fine in moderation for humans) but I'd worry about it being safely digested or metabolized by birds.

Cool Whip - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please be cautious!
