finally my bird came home!!!!!

My btm came home Saturday. She is AWESOME!. Shes settling in and getting really friendly to me. I put her in the cage when we got home. Next day I fed her pellets and talked/sat near her .Then I took her out for about 20 minutes. Thai morning iI had her out for about 45 min and she didnt want to get back in the cage.Im psyched shell come right out of the cage so I dont have to chase her.The first time I lured her out with food. A great thing too is my dog is being WAY!!!!!!better than I thought she would. She is a BRAT.I kept them seperate for the first 2 daysbut today i let her in the room and she didnt really react to the bird at all.I think shes a little scared of it.When the doors shutand Im in there she barks/whines etc.Hopefully now when Im home the door can stay open and theyll coexist peacefully.Havent named her yet Im thinking of jewel/chloe /cleo.YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! How was she shipped? Did you have to pick her up at the airport or was it to your house? Either way, the wait must have made you so anxious (I know I would have been). Glad to see all is well and hope all goes well in the coming days (hope for pictures too). I look forward to swapping stories and info with another BTM owner.

She was shipped on Continental and I picked her up at cargo.Luckily she didnt seem traumatizedand was pretty calm considering thats a huge change for a little bird. She is really sweetand settling in nicely. Inamed her jewel. I havent had any complaints about noise either YEAH!!! She is actually pretty quiet .She makes a cute soft bleeting noise usually, but she let out a few loud squawks mostly when she was startled .I think the noise/issue will be okay.(I live in a pet allowed condo) Im keeping my fingers crossed about that.Ill post pictures when I get a dig.camera.There is a picture of her when she was younger in the macaw section titled megs btm. her breeder put them on for me.She looks pretty much full grown shes gorgeous with alot of orange on her body.
