Thanks for the kind words. The wife and I are huge animal lovers, and we desperately want to help it. If it would've been a dog, we'd brought it home for sure. We just don't have enough knowledge on birds, much less a large macaw to take on such a task. At least not yet. My research OCD is kicking into overdrive so that if such an opportunity arises again, we'll be more in a position to take it on.

At least you know the bird is receiving better than basic care. The right person will walk in and find that guy and everything will fall into place. You were probably wise to realize this may not be the route to go as one who is fairly new to parrots. I commend you for all of the work you have done with other animals. I have a feeling there is at least one other bird out there that will make its way to you and benefit by your love and dedication to their care.

That having been said, if you continue to visit the Military Macaw and you see him responding to you, I bet that one day price will still be good or possibly even lowered. In the mean time keep doing your research so that when one does make its way to you, you will feel better able to take on the challenge.
