Tico's first vet visit

Well, it's been two weeks since we adopted Tico. I took him for his first vet check. Since we've had him he's been regurgitating. Not throwing up just rechewing the food and swallowing it. The original "parent"said he does do that at molting time. He also said it could be a mating/bonding thing. Well, the vet did a swab. All was fine. She feels it's Tico trying to bond with me. She ran blood work and I'll get the results later today. Tico got the full treatment nails, wing trim, and a very complete exam. He was a good boy through it all. The staff seemed impressed with him. He weighs approx 984 to 1000, as he was shifting his weight. I've got my fingers crossed with blood work.

Great to hear. My macaw regurgitates to me all the time as well. That is their way of say "I like you". Good thing our hubby's and boyfrinds to tell that to us that way!! I would be single for life!@

I am flattered he does it to me, but he really wouldn't hurt my feelings if he kept it to himself. I know when I tell my wife that's why he's doing it, she's going to laugh.

GOOD for him! Sounds like a gooe weight too.
Both my B&G's come in at just under 1200 grams.... they are big! The vet tells me that when he dies, he wants to come back as one of my birds.... he knows he would be spoiled!
Gotta love 'em!

Yes. Don't worry about the regurgitating. He's telling you he loves you. Newt does it all the time to me. You've been accepted as a member of the flock.

Weight sounds great and sound like you have a good healthy boy.

Love can be displayed in some pretty strange ways where birds are concerned huh... you can puked on/for... the will bite you... strange little critters... god I couldnt live without them. LOL Happy to know that his visit went well and he was a "good bird."
