Weight

Our B&G Leon is just 11 1/2 months old. We have him since mid September and I have put him on the scale for the first time. His weight is 1020g. Is this ok for him?
I have not have him sexed yet (as far as I know males and females can be a little different in their size), we will do it when we take him to the vet for the first time.
What do your B&G's weight?
He has pellets all day in the bowl. At noon I give him some fruits/veggies and in the evening he has dinner with us, so every day something else. He loves the meals and can eat quite a bit a lot, I have no clue where he puts all that stuff, it's amazing, how much a "little" bird can eat.
Thanks for any advice, Rahel

an average B&G can weigh anywhere between 800-1200g...it sounds like you have nice and healthy bird there! when you take him to the vet the vet will let you know if he is underweight, which it does not sound like...you birds weight is about average. he may even be on the bigger size as he still has a little bit of growing left

Nate, thanks for the info on the normal weight range....It's definitely good to know what normal is so we can keep track of our fid's health.

I agree that Leon sounds like he's in good flesh. I know Tiku weighed 1.8 pounds at his vet check Saturday....I have no idea how many grams that is (If I remember correctly....which I probably don't...I think 454g is 1lb?). I'm ordering my own scale to weigh him at home though so I can keep better track.

Rahel, do you have any pics of Leon??? I know we'd all love to see them!

Well thank you all for the information. I know the average weight of the B&G but because he still is a baby I was not quite sure whit it.
Since I am still not in to good in the american measurements, I have installed a convertion program in my computer, this helps me again and again a looot.

I will try to add a picture of Leon, I just have to find out how and I did not have the time (or passion?) to do it yet.

Thanks again!
