Face studies

I am very interested in the heads of the birds. Anna wrote about the faces, that they are like fingerprints and non of them are the same looking.

Now I am looking to find as many Macaw faces as possible to see all the varieties.

I will not use them for anything, I would just like to have a closer look on different faces.

I am already surprised about our birds faces. Leons little facefeathers are clean in a row, row by row, IMG_1720_320x240.JPG while Riley looks like he has a big mess, they are all over, like freckles. IMG_1761_320x240.JPG

Would you allow me to have a closer look on your birdies? People, please post faces...

I don't have the best close up pictures of mine cause he won't sit still long enough. But once I get my zoom lense for my camera from my brother-in-law I wil be able to. Here is what I do have!

Here is a close up of Savannah's face taken about 3 minutes ago.

You can barely see the white feathers on Savannah's face. I can see why some feel think that they have no facial feathers.

She doesn't really have any white feathers on her face. All the white feather shafts go to a feather. She does have some fine black ...hairs...for lack of a better word. Here is a larger version where you can see what I mean.
