Apollo has laid 3 eggs in about 2 weeks time. Then she spent 3 days tending her imaginary chick. She tucked her rubber toy under her wing and refused to come out and leave her chick. This morning we found she ripped her rubber chick into a zillion pieces. She has now spent the whole day sitting on her toys trying to hatch them on the floor of her cage. She doesnt come up to eat or drink, we have to put her bowls on the floor or she wont eat or drink. She wont play, talk or leave her cage. Its a mystery to us what this behavior is about. I assume it has something to do with her eggs. When she laid the eggs they fell thru the grate and broke so we removed them. Is she now trying to hatch her toys? And why did she chew apart the imaginary chick that she so carefully tended and fed for 3 days? STRANGE,
