Someone I know has a nanday. That's worse. I'll take my greenwing roars any day.

a screaming bird is like a baby crying, as a parent you get used your babies cry and you understand they need something, it doesn't irritate you. But to someone who doesn't have kids (or birds) it is more irritating. When me and my husband can no longer hear each other talk in the morning over the zon and the mini macaw, I think it's funny but he gets a little irritated, that's because they're my babies ! when his dog barks he praises her so he's no better. When you love an animal you accept behaviors that are difficult, it's part of the package.

Sometimes my sun will just scream untill his voice cracks...it generally because he broke something in his cage and he wants it fixed....After I tend to him he is fine.

The high pitch of the Suns and Nandays is very hard on my ears. I know I wouldn't be able to own one! Macaws are loud but don't have that high pitch, easier for me.

I'd say that nothing beats the purr of a Sun ...but Zoe purrs. LOL Nothing beats the purr of a Red Front!

I have this....strange feeling that you're lying.

I find Sun screams louder, more shrill, and more ear-piercing than any other bird call. However, Eti has taken to trying to immitate the conures if they get going.

It's like...waking up in the morning to a dude doing a REALLY bad impression of a lady yelling.

That being said...honestly? Nothing irritates me more than the constant whistling of a cockatiel. But I have this thing about whistling.....

my friend has a sun that except for the noise would be the perfect bird. I literally cant spend much time at her house cause its unbearable to me. Theyre gorgeous birds though. She wears earplugs all the time at home.

Nandays are louder (Mine makes my ears ring) but if you really want to hear a loud conure find a finsch's conure. I used to have one. I could hear him half way down the street. He was second only to the moluccans.
