Rescues from Orlando FL

Hi Guys.. Don't know if you heard this, but about a month ago, an older couple were found dead in their home in Orlando area...yes, very sad, but it was on the news here becuase they had many exotic animals in their care.

20+ exotics birds, a couple of monkeys, snakes, etc. Anyway, guess who has the rescues? The shop where I got my boys from. Many are still for sale or have been sold at much lower prices.. My Avian Vet (same as the shop's) has checked them out and they are healthy.

One pair in particular has stolen my heart, but I just don't have the room . It's a Harlequin and Catalina that are paired up. This pair is selling for $1200.00. They do not know the sex of these two or their ages, but I've seen them about 3 times now.. they are healthy, and seem awfully sweet, just a little nervous/rattled by the upheaval in their lives. The catalina would let me touch his feet in the cage, the harley was more shy, but I didn't want to force them to step up to me.

If you want I can try to get some pics. There are some others there as well I think that are up for adoption.

What do you think?

How did they both die at the same time without the birds dying too?

From what i understand, the neighbors called police becuase they heard the animals carrying on... not really sure though, so the animals were only by themselves a day or so

What other birds/animals are for adoption? A pair of macaw is a little too much, but is there anything smaller?

I think I remember hearing that story on the news. Is this the case where their house was staked out and robbed and they had a lot of adopted/fostered children? So sad. I hope they find loving forever homes. Would love to see some pictures.

I live near Tampa. Could you find out what other birds they have up for adoption? We've been talking about getting another, and I would rather adopt a bird in need of a home, then buy retail.

Chief's Bird Cabin or The Bird Cabin as I call it - on Edgewater Dr in Orlando. Just to let you know, the owners of the shop are very, very particular who their birds go to (which is a good thing).. They make sure they have good homes.

I'll see if the owner will let me get pics and a list of the ones that are up for adoption.. She probably will, but I'll let you know.
