17 week old blue and gold isnt interested in food..

if i put anything in her mouth besides formula she looks at me like i have lost my mind. I keep cheerios, millet, pellets,in her cage. I have given her sweet potatoes, bananas. If she is playing with anything and something accidentally goes down she acts horrified! She is healthy, flying, happy and seems okay but i really want her to eat! We are on 2 a day feedings. Suggestions ??

You must eat in front of her. Macaws learn what is good to eat by being with and watching the parents. Make a dish of goodies and put it down with her whilst playing or whatever and happily munch away. If she comes to investigate let her or maybe even pull it away for a minute but still where she can come in investigate herself. She will begin to get real interested in what it is that is so good for you she will want!

That is so true. That is what I do with mine. Juno is 5 months and loves fresh food. I eat with her. Also, are you mudding up her pellets to make them soft?
