Juno and her Hoopball
So today we decided to put Junos Hoopball in her cage with her. She absolutely loves this thing. When she is out on it and we put her back in her cage she would scream and scream and scream. So we put the darned thing in the cage with her and now all is right in the quarantine room. One more week to go before we put her in with the general public (in Captains room).
Thought I would post a couple of pics of our happy temper"mental" little girl who will be five months old tomorrow! Poor Brian, now he has to make another hoopball for her to play on "outside" of her cage. If I had to guess I would say she knew what the hoopball was before she came to us.

She doesn't sit still long enough to get too many at once (unless you are holding her). She is constantly on the move unless she is in "cuddle mode" which tends to be after dinner on the sofa with Brian. She is definitely going to be handful... the Scarlet personality is starting to make itself present... she is starting lunge and pinch. She is a hoot.

Will have to keep that in mind as she is in there right now dismantling that one. We had taken a Hoop Ball down to the Hyacinth baby down the street in the Spring and it lasted him 4 months before he got it apart, that one too is currently in the repair shop. The big birds really enjoy these things though. My Miligold has a concrete perch swing that hangs from chains and she swings side to side on. We were going to get Juno one, but I don't think she is quite ready for that yet, so thank goodness for whomever invented Hoop Balls!

That's odd.
My last remaining hoopball (gave the others away) is still as sturdy as the day I made it and outside dealing with the elements as well and has yet to show wear and tear. Mine prefer to play on it over chewing it up. Guess I'm just lucky. How exactly is it being dismantled?

Well, the Hy down the street broke through the poly rope and ate the Hula Hoops... LOL.
Juno is undo'ing the sisal that Brian used to bind the two hoops together and is eating the vet tape that covers the pvc connectors... not a big deal. Is there a better way?

Quote:
Instead of tying the hoops together, use a stainless steel screw. You can bury it between the rope on the outer hoop and keep it short enough to not go all the way thru the inside hoop. Out of site, out of mind works here. I don't put anything on the PVC connectors. Can't say much for the Hy damage. I made on for a Hy and have not been told of any damage.
