- Max--He is a 17yr old Maximillian Pionus I inherited from my mother when she passed away. He's the evil genius who rules the house. I was 16 when my parents bought him. He was my mother's bird...he didn't accept my sister or I as anything but his inferiors. He still lords around on his cage like a small Napoleon, but neither my sister or I can replace my mom. However, he has been teaching Gabbi a few words and he loves to sing with her--all day long. Since I got my other two birds, Max seems to be less depressed and more his old self. I am happy about that.
Gabbi--She is my Yellow Nape Amazon. It took her a few days to start talking with confidence, and now she babbles from morning to night. Unfortunately she is a quick study and I have to really pay attention to what I say in front of her... Her vocabulary is quite large and she isn't even a year old! I can't imagine what she'll be like in 10 years.
Linus--He is my male Eclectus. He is very quiet but enjoys cooing at everyone. I got him just before Thanksgiving of 2006. He's like a large green teddy bear. Although I've never seen a bird move like he does...he hops everywhere like a frog. Flying doesn't seem to occur to him unless he's up high and wants to wander around on the floor or the couch. He also doesn't seem to stop eating...he'll hop into everyone else's cage and snitch their food if he can. - What other type of pets do you own?
