Your Fids:
Noel, she is my cherry head conure. Before I received her, she was attacked by a ferret and suffered from brain damage. This resulted in poorer eye site, balancing problems, and the loss of the ability to fly. She came here Dec 22nd, 2001 from a stranger who was dropping off food. Noel has come a far ways, and is one of the loves of my life!

Casey, a cockatiel, was a gift to me of sorts. She came here Nov 15th, 2001. She was handraised from day one and is the sweetest tiel I've ever met! Course she has hissy fits if I don't scratch her head just right!

From the budgies side... Smurf came from one of the worst homes I've seen. The first that he was in he was ignored, and people inside the home smoked cigs, pot, drank alcohol, etc. His "family" moved to a better home which was kept clean, however he was still a very sad little birdy. Sophia and Georgia were bought for the boys (one of which has now passed on) and really light things up! Then came two new girls, given up because their previous owners didn't want to care for them any longer.

The bourk, one lonely girl... I had originally received a pair and their one daughter from a couple who were going to travel the USA and couldn't find a birdsitter... they also came with a lone turq, though sadly all of them (minus the one daughter) were 10+ years old and have passed on.

I also have a family of tiels, Kiwi and Pistachio being the parents. Kiwi used to pluck and mutilate herself and might have been a chronic egg layer. Pistachio, well his head has been plucked. Two of their offspring are Sunshine, a lovely pearl girl, and Kirby, a "spitting image" of his father! Both Kiwi and Kirby have been adopted! They were given up cause their previous owner wasn't taking care of them and the father of the family had no time for them. It's a good thing too that they were surrendered because when they arrived here, they smelled like they were sitting in a fresh ash tray! Add to that, their cage, which was only fit for one tiel at max, was a few shades yellow-er!

Charlie, mitred conure, 13 years of age, parents were wild caught mitreds, and he lived with one owner for 10 years who boarded him indefinitely at a petstore for about a year. He was then taken into a foster home where he was well loved, but too loud! He needed something a little more permanent and a place where his screaming wouldn't bother the neighbors!

Faye, another cockatiel. She came from the same home as Clyde, a whiteface cockatiel (also adopted) came from. She's learning to live the life of a cage-free tiel, and is slowly getting warmed up to me after 4 months...
About Yourself:
I'm just a girl, at age 20, that has been in love with birds since I was 12! Well, I have always loved creatures that could fly, and for my 12th b-day had received a bird cage. It wasn't until a few months later did I actually receive my first bird, a budgie. That was back in 2000. By 2001, I had a few budgies, a cockatiel, and a cherry head conure! My love for them hasn't stopped growing, nor the knowledge that I gather about them and all the other parrots out there!
What other type of pets do you own?:
Birds, Dogs, Cats
