- I now have 2 Quaker Parrots and a Lovebird. I have had Kiwi for 4 years. He is like my child. This week I finally decided to get another bird. I bought a lovebird. He is 3 months old and never been handled. I felt sorry for him for he is missing a toe and looks to be not totally right. He was the last one. Then I had a call from add I put in. I received 1 phone call and this gal had a Quaker Parrot named Daffy, female 5 years old. Just wanted Daffy to have a loving home. Brought him home today, August 08. New Quaker is a sweetie, Kiwi is a bit jealous yet looks like they are going to be friends in the next few weeks. Love birds, they are so smart and people do not realize what dedicated friends they are if you just treat them with the respect they deserve. I hear people talking of getting a parrot, like they can just leave he or she in it's cage and that is all they do. That is so sad for those are the ones that I feel are abused. To not give parrots attention will slowly kill them. The Quakers are comical to watch the two of them get to know each other. The lovebird is watching them totaling confused. Have not named the lovebird yet. I have been calling him baby for now. He is very small.

- I am 51 and just recently had to stop working due to some bone problems. I live alone with Kiwi. Trying to adjust to my new situation of being at home and it is very difficult. I have two boys, Chris 21 years old and Joshua will be 19 Sept 1. They are going to college and will living on their own. I am trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up again. I have had many birds the first by accident, a parakeet our cat found. Had her for 14 years. I ended up then with a Lovebird, who died when I went out of town. I had A Yellow Nape Amazon Parrot which was the nicest bird. So friendly. When I had my first child, between finances and the bird getting loud had to give her to a new home. Now My chldren are on their own I am trying to decide if I want to travel, do something like see the United States. A bit feeling like a teenager again.
Update now have Kiwi, Daffy and Baby, 2 quakers and a Lovebird. They are overtaking my home. - What other type of pets do you own?
