Your Fids:
Maria - "Gentle Giant" - 9 year old grey cockatiel hen. My first bird and one of my closest friends. She has previously been abused so she doesn't like to be touched but if you are gentle she will be the sweetest thing.

Andrew - "Mooch", "Lazy Butt", "Dork Bird" - 7 year old grey male cockatiel. Spoiled rotten and lazy as can be! Loves attention and will do anything to get it but will still constantly surprise me when it comes to just how incredibly stupid he can be.

Tammy - "Scruffy Baby", "Sweet but Stupid" - 4 year old pied cockatiel hen. She was found half-dead on the floor of a disgusting aviary (which has since been shut down) and surrendered to me as a chick and it took two years of intensive care for her to finally act like a normal cockatiel. Her feathers tend to grow in at odd angles from the scarring, her balance is off because her wing was broken and never healed properly, and she only has full use of one of her feet but she has yet to meet someone and not steal their heart away!

Autumn - "Lady Bird" - 17 year old fallow-pearl-pied cockatiel hen. Queen of the flock!
Billy - "Cranky Old Man" - 15 year old pied male cockatiel.
Autumn was surrendered from the same aviary as Tammy after her calcium dropped to critical levels along with her mate, Billy. She is now very healthy except for mild arthritis that is easily treated with diet but has severe chemical sensitivities. If she could be glued to my chest and be cuddled all day long, she would be! Billy is amazingly healthy, but he is only friendly when it suits him! He can talk as well, but he only knows about 6 words and is very hard to understand. His ability to use those words in context is amazing ("Au'umn predy Au'umn mine")

Jesse - "Brat Bird" - 3 year old pearl-pied male cockatiel. After Autumn was healthy again I found a surprise on the floor of the aviary: an egg! Autumn and Billy had no nesting spots and 12 hours of sleep a night, but there was one fertile egg on the floor of the cage and that was it. I know I should have boiled the egg, but I already had the tools and knowledge needed to raise a baby bird and Autumn was a wonderful mother. I do regret my choice but I still love Jesse dearly. He has more energy then you could believe and has declared himself Lord of My Head.

Apollo - "Lord of Attitude" - 2 year old pied male cockatiel. My sister bought Apollo and three other cockatiels on a whim after a local breeder offered a discount because Apollo had flown onto the cage of a macaw mother and had one of his feet bitten off. She soon found out that cockatiels are not simple pets, and recently somehow they ended up in my flock! Apollo can sing anything and will whistle for anyone who will listen. Despite his missing foot he gets around very well and is always flying in circles or trying to get attention from someone.

Buddy - "Easily Amused", "Chubster" - 2 year old grey male cockatiel. Buddy came with Apollo and the others, and other then being quite overweight he is very healthy. He loves everything, and was eating vegetables and pellets the first time they were offered! As long as there is a shoulder for him to sit on, he is happy as can be!

Diana - "Hissy Face" - 2 year old lutino-pearl cockatiel hen. Diana came with Buddy and the others but unfortunately she was not as healthy. Liver disease. She is currently on a low-fat high vitamin B diet and getting tons of exercise along with both mainstream and alternative treatment and at her last blood panel her liver enzymes were normal! She still hates just about everything though!

Tapestry - "Shy Sweetie" - 2 year old pearl cockatiel hen. Tapestry came with Diana and the others and luckily was in perfect health. She was very shy though, but is now starting to come out of her shell as the sweetest cuddlebaby possible.
About Yourself:
I'm weird and geeky! I am currently not working due to disability but I am taking online courses trying to finish a degree in pre-vet. Eventually I will be an avian vet, but until then I continue to foster mainly cockatiels and when my health is better I will return to work as a vet tech. I love all parrots but cockatiels are my heart.

I tend to be a bit of a goofball at times and most of my free time is spent playing video games, usually with my birds! I also cosplay, though I'm still a novice at that. I love to tinker with things to see how they work. I can't spell to save my life!

Since I can't work a fixed job at this time I prepare flash-frozen organic bird food and bird treats that are sold at a local pet food store (Healthy Tails and Scales) and that helps me to keep my beebs as spoiled as can be!
