I miss my friend...

So, today my friend of 6 years, Summer, has passed away. I feel so horrible. She was a Sun Conure and I really loved her alot. Today I was taking a nap and she was sleeping with me too, like she always does. I got up because somebody called me and I went to the bathroom, when I returned I noticed that she hadn't made a noise, usualy she'll make some sort of little mumble or she'll come out of the sheets and scream when she realizes I'm gone. I came back and looked and I guess I had rolled over on her, as she layed there completly motionless. I've never felt so horrible in my life, not only did she die, but I had killed her. Please don't make the same mistake I did, don't sleep with them, because you never know when accidents could happen.

im so sorry!I wouldnt blame yourself.your bird is I think more likely to have died of natural causes. REALLY! If you rold over on it I think it would have squawked and moved.birds are very light sleepers.

i'm deeply sorry for your loss.... don't beat yourself up over it, as you can't change anything now - the best you can do is learn from it, and spread the word....

again, i'm very sorry for your loss!

Ok dont say it, I will

What were you thinking? Or were you thinking at all?

Anyone that has half a brain knows that a 10 inch bird sleeping with a human will get smashed/suffocated sooner or later because they like to snuggle right up next to the human.

accidents dont just happen they are caused and in this case there is really no excuse.

Is that about right BL?

I think Acorb knows now that that was wrong so I don't think we have to make them feel any worse. Not everyone is an expeienced bird owner and don't realise the consequences.
