Unhappy Munchkin, my little baby...I will miss you sooo much! I love you!

My littlest chick, Munchkin, died early this morning. He'd been going downhill despite everything and I guess it was just too much for his little body. He was only here for 28 days, but he was such a fighter! Everyone is acting like I'm crazy cuz I can't stop crying and he was just a baby but I loved him so much! I feel like I should have done more...Every night before bed he would snuggle on my chest and go to sleep while I scratched his head. He never gained weight after taking him out of the nest box, or even grew any bigger but he tried soooo hard to be like his bigger siblings! I never thought something so small (he could still fit in the palm of my hand) could find such a huge place in my heart in such a short time. Goodbye my little baby! I will never forget you and I am so sorry!

I'm so sorry you lost your little baby. There is nothing wrong or silly with feeling grief for your little chick, it's normal, I'm the same way. I think it is very hard to lose a chick, I'm attached from the first day I spot them in the nest box, work through your emotions regardless what others think. You gave him the best life you could, for his short time here.

Oh no, thats so sad, i know you did everything you could and we could all tell you did from everything you tried. Of course you would grow attached, you were as much of a parent as the real ones. Don't second guess yourself, you did all you could. Rest in peace little munchkin.

I'm so sorry to hear that:( I'm sure Munchkin knew that you were doing your best, and that he tried too... but I'm also sure that he's looking after you and his siblings.

Call me crazy, but I have such a strong belief that birds are just these peaceful creatures that end up making you enjoy life much more than you normally would. Even if they're here for a matter of years, days, even one on the side of the road that you may see hopping by or stealing a french-fry... they will always find a way into your heart. You and Munchkin are in my thoughts:)
