My cockatiel got away we spent hours searching but only spotted her once and just like that she was gone...We never saw her again...I miss my baby izzy i remember when we used to hand feed her she was so cute lol barely and feathers...It's funny it's the little thinbgs that you miss when something happens the things you don't pay attention to most of the times are the things you so desperatly want to happen again...I remeber the spot on her crest just 1 lonely gray spot...Her crooked toe with no nail...Her going and sitting on my sons pillow until he woke up...perching on the wall mounted speaker in our living room...I miss her i know she did not survive the weather...It has snowed...The nights have been below freezing even had freezing rain....I sure do miss her...So whereever you are izzy R.I.P. remember we always love you and will never forget the impact you had on our lives...

I was reading the other posts on here and they triggered something i have been crying none stop i even found some of izzys feathers in the bottom of her cage and framed them with a picture of my son dressed in a chicken costume for his first halloween i miss her and even now i can't stop crying..I think of all the could haves...or the should have's...I miss her and i should have been a better mom to her ...You think about all the mistakes you COULD make but this is one that never really crossed my mind...I'm sorry it didn't and i'm sorry i didn't prepare for it in case it did...

I'm so sorry....
I'm crying rivers for you and Izzy and for my Twinkie as well. He flew out of the window two weeks ago. I'm searching desperately, but so far....nothing. I posted 800 flyers, ads in newspaper, ads on internet I even got attention of Chicago Sun Times and my article went out this Wednesday...I went to identify a dead wild bird (I almost got a heartattack thinking it's my boy) and today I possibly reunited another family with their lost tiel. She could be Twinkie's twin. She got lost on November 30, 2006...and she SURVIVED the Chicago's horrible winter. Maybe your baby found some family...

And yes, you're right...those memories of tiny things they did, the simple look or move of their little heads, morning chirping and cuddling with you....I'm devastated and I know I won't forgive myself for not checking on that screen. It was ripped and I didn't see it? What kind of fid parent am I? I was so cautious not to use sprays, chemicals, teflon, drafts,...and I didn't check the window screen???????
Oh what I would do to turn back time ...

Well for those of you that have lost a FID don't give up hope.There are many cases where FIDS have been reunited with their owners.Go through all avenues post on Parrot911 and other resources.Just beware of the many SCAMS out there who prey on the unsuspecting victims.

I lost all my FIDS to theft 3 years ago and I still haven't given up hope of finding them one day.
