RIP Joey the Budgie

Saturday, April 28, 2007 Joey died as I was comforting him in my hands

Several months ago he suffered a head trauma. Did not know what caused it but his right eye was swollen and bleeding. The vet said there is not much he could do (time to get a new vet) at the time and it might be likely he will recover. I quarantined him for several weeks, the eye cleared up and he was his cheerful self flying with the flock

Saturday morning he was very quiet and had difficulty flying. The left side of his body seemed to trouble him, he could perch but with great difficulty. The paralysis grew and in a few hours he was gone as his mom & dad and the rest of the flock looked on . You were only with us for a year, but what a year you had! Watching you hatch, getting your little feathers, learning to eat and then leaving the nest box and growing up. YouTube - Joey Luv
