A Star Goes Out
Yesterday we lost Star.
Star was one of our 2 Celestial Parrotlets who were an amazing double act. One minute they were singing together and then she just fell off her perch, she was gone. The whole family were shocked, birds and humans. The really difficult thing was watching Gem crying out, looking for her. She kept going to the place where Star landed and cried out the whole day. May I ask if anyone knows of a breeder in Ayrshire Scotland, so that I can find company for Gem. |

That is terribly sad. It must have been difficult watching Gem and not knowing how to console him. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I have taken Gem out of her cage and into the 'hospital' cage. The cage she shared with Star has been sterilised along with all its contents. I am going to keep Gem in the hospital for a week or so as I do not want her overly stressed. The cages for the other species have also been thourally cleaned. |
