Good bye Sam!
My dear parakeet, Sam, died on Sunday, or at least that is when he was found since I was away for the weekend. The person who was at home evidently did not do anything but cover and uncover the cages.
Sam was rescued just last year from a family that kept him in a small round cage on top of the refrigerator and only gave him food and water. They never cleaned his cage. He did not trust humans at all. I trimmed his wings and let him climb and move as he pleased. He was so happy with my other keets. Only recently had he started to trust me to pick him up and not hurt him. I will always miss him. I love hiim.
