Unhappy One of my birds passed today:(

I have some birds that I have rescued. I have had them for a couple of years now and my female was acting weird this morning so I started treating her. I got her warm, started giving her baby food ( she did not want to eat her breakfast I made her) She started acting better I did not want to take her out in the cold to try and find and avian vet we don't have one around here just normal vets who don't know any more than I do. Then all of the sudden her breathing became labored, so I was holding her and snuggling with her and within a couple of minutes she passed. From the begining to the end was less than an hour. She was acting normal last night when we went to bed. I have been balling all morning. I don't know what I will do with my other bird who was her companian. I hope he does not take it too hard. I have been freaking out constatly watching him He is acting normal other than him knowing that I am upset and reacting to that. I just had to get this out. I feel guilty because I don't know what was wrong with her at least I guess I did everything I could for her and was with her

I'm so sorry for your loss. I would definitely get the other bird to an avian vet to make sure it isn't something that needs to be treated in the other bird. It might also help to have her tested to see what the cause was. Once again, so sorry for your loss.

So very, very sorry. Every loss of a loved, little friend is so devastating.
My thoughts are with you and your family and your little one's companion.
Sometimes these things just...happen. Without much warning at all. Maybe it was just her time...glad you were there to comfort her and assure her that she was loved in her last moments. Fly free, little one!

Sorry for your loss!! Sending lots of healing hugs. You should try and find a Vet to do the necropsy so you know if it is something your other bird can get or has.

Im so sorry for your loss. I would take the other little guy to the vet to make sure he is okay. I would also investigate the cage, surroundings and anything that might have been different in its environment.

I thought of the Bible verse that says: not one sparrow falls to the ground that God doesnt know about it. He also knows about your pain in the loss of your beautiful bird. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way.
