Sad news: Julie Massey

I am so very sad to tell everyone that Julie Massey (babyblue) died on Friday, June 12 from various illnesses. She had struggled with severe health issues for the past 7 years, and is now free from pain and suffering. She was in her mid-50s.

Julie taught me and many others about parrots, and especially macaws. She had a large flock of birds, including her beloved macaws, BabyBlue, Max, Sunny, and Topaz. She had 2 disabled birds, Cotton and Lil Bit who enjoyed a full life under her care. She also had the amazing Reno, her CAG, who would imitate the sound of helicopters going to the Air Force base near her house. Her dear friend John will take her flock and care for them lovingly.

Julie started to care for parrots about 30 years ago as a teenager, and she raised hundred of babies over the years. She was always there to answer any question, especially about raising babies. Despite chronic pain and a disabled arm, Julie brought joy and laughter to the lives of many, and we have lost a dear friend.

May light eternal shine upon you, my dear friend, as you await God's coming in glory. Pamela

That is sad news. What a gift she was to the world of Parrots. Blessings to John for taking her flock and allowing her to know that her babies are safe and loved for.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. What a nice person to care for disabled birds. That takes a special kind of person - kudos to the man who took in her entire flock. We should all have friends like that. Kindest Regards.
