Sir Waddlesworth. RIP 21/10/09
Waddles passed away on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. I don't know why. He was given an all-clear at the vet only a few weeks ago and was recovering just fine after knocking his wing and making it bleed.
I will miss him, he was cool. We were considering putting him with a purple female as he was a blue 'opaque spangle' and we wanted to try and make some purple opaque spangles. I don't know much about genetics, but Laura on this forum is a budgie breeder and was super excited when she saw his colours. I just wish he had given me some kind of clue that something was wrong. I pretty much watched him like a hawk and he was eating, drinking and pooping just like normal. He was having no troubles getting around his cage and i changed the papers every day for the ulcers on his feet. They were getting better, he was eating good foods, i don't get it. I probably should have had a necropsy done but didn't. He may have had some kind of internal bleeding. Poor waddles, I'll miss you <3 YouTube - Waddle-Butt YouTube - Waddle-Butt Again! I really just wish he'd given me some type of warning sign. If he' only stopped eating or drinking or something. He looked FINE. I didn't have him for long and hadn't formed a very close bond with him, but i thought he was so cool... He was a laid-back little bird. He would have made some pretty babies too.

I am so sorry for your loss. Maybe he was really older then what the vet thought. You never know. But you gave him a very happy home. Fly free little birdie.
