Please help us raise funding for the Avian Health Network. This is a group of unpaid volunteers whose task it is to raise funding for Dr. Branson Ritchie's Emerging Disease Research at the University of Georgia College for Veterinary Medicine. It is the ONLY nationally recognized research currently ongoing here in the United States.

PDD (Proventricular Dilitation Disease) also known as Wasting Syndrome is an incurable and always fatal disease that has been devasting the psssiticine community since the 1970's. There are currently no vaccines, definitive tests (crop biopsy being the only confirming test) or long term treatments for the disease. It is hoped that the this team will one day find the cause and vaccine. They have already discovered a vaccine for West Nile Virus and Pssiticine Beak and Feather Disease both of which are currently under review by the FDA.
