How we can post more descriptive subject / thread titles.

Bird Board could use some help with the confusion of thread / subject titles,
I guess the best analogy is that we need to make it like a library. Subjects ie Threads need to be labeled accordingly to eable future users to look up and learn from past posts.

This will help with the confusion between threads / posts / subjects and find out if a member needs help, just sharing an experience, or otherwise.

Here are simple examples of this would be:

==== EXAMPLE #1 =======

Original Title = "YAY!" When opened, it discusses that the owners Macaw is laying eggs.

Improved Subject Line = Yay! My Blue and Gold Macaw "Gail" laid 3 eggs.

----------------------------

==== EXAMPLE #2 =======
Original Title: Crackers?

Improved Subject Line: Is it ok to feed my bird crackers?

---------------------------

==== EXAMPLE #3 =======

Original Title: Just Wondering....

Improved Subject Line: I'm wondering what sort of diet is ideal for my cockatiel?

---------------------------

==== EXAMPLE #4 =======

Original Title: HELP!

Improved Subject Line: Can anyone help me train my bird to step up?

Having descriptive & specific subject / threadss will better help members to search and locate topics of interest quicker and easier or importance in relativity to what they may need.

This also serves Off topic subjects, which can be posted in the Lounge, bird specific topics in the Species Specific talk section, making sure to put the topic into the correct forum, and Birdboard Discussion for general bird talk. In this way it'll help keep the boards cleaner and more on topic.

We suggest for members to read and post more in the specific species section to get these areas more active, and to help for other members to find topics relative to issues, experiences, etc to species they own.

Special thanks to Monica for this peice.

It would probably be a good idea to reserve ANY post that starts with the word HELP to be a real and true emergency. Otherwise, it will have no meaning whatsoever in a real emergency. Just a suggestion.

Great idea! It would help if we all did this. I'll try to keep my threads on topic too! :)

I was also wondering why we got rid of the Emerceny Response catagory? I thought this was a really good idea. Especially for those who needed response ASAP.

Totally agree with subject lines - ON POINT!

Do we need to vote on this?

Many folks don't even do this in personal emails to/fro each other on
their PC's every day....

That's why people get frustrated....
Did you get my email????.... nope, it went into junk, because I didn't know who you were -- or what you wanted!?!?!?!

It's simple email etiquette!
