We are now getting past alot of our little tech glitches and moving into our
larger feature ideas for the site. With that said we are ready to really open up the doors and welcome new members.

This month's contest is a refferal contest quite simple... The top 3 people who refer thoe most new members are eligible to win.

1st Place wins 25 dollars gift certificate to (( to be announced later ))
2nd Place wins 15 dollar gift certificate to (( to be announced later ))
3rd place wins 10 dollar gift certificate to (( to be announced later ))

and for each refferal you send...
BirdBoard.com will donate 20 cents per member reffered to the PDD Research Foundation.

Now your asking how does this work... Well here are the steps...

At the bottom of all pages there is a link


In order to get credit for your refferal you need to use this link when you share it with friends...

So for example if you email your friends a thread on birdboard that you think they would be interested in, your refferal url is included in those emails...

If you want to send your friends your own email with your url feel free, share your refferal url with other groups online, bird clubs, other bird websites and etc...

Got a question this morning and thought others might be asking the same to themself.... So heres the question and the answer below.

If i pass the link on to other bird friends that I know do they need to use the link in order to get here & join will it keep a running tab of all of the people that joined useing my link? I guess I need to know how it works better?

Thanks for the question, I am sure many others have the same question or a slight variance of yours...

Answer:

The refferal link that you find at the bottom of each page contains a number at the end so for example...

http://www.birdboard.com/forum/index...eferrerid=1621 The 1621 for example represents a member on the board or better said the member who is reffering you to the site.

So if this url was connected with you, you would share this url with anyone you would like, in order to get credit for reffering this person they need to click on this particular link and signup. If they by pass it and get to the site another way type it in or search engine or etc then no reffering credit is givin since theres no way to account for it.

I hope this clears up your question and some questions others might have.

Actually, The user can enter the username of the person that referred them if they somehow manage to get around the referral link but still want to give credit to the referrer.
