She was going to be frozen!

I was helping out at my MIL's retail shop when a girl came in asking if we knew anyone that wanted an 8 ft boa. I said no as I have to many bird to want a snake around. I have a lot of experience with snakes as I used to raise them but really didn't want another one.
The girl said if she didn't find a home for it by the weekend her boyfriend was going to put her snake in the freezer so he could skin it later on. She really wanted to find it a home before that happened. What was I to do? Of course I gave her my number and told her I would take the snake.
I didn't get a call until yesterday. She said she had 2 hrs to get "that snake" out of the house or it was going in the freezer. I went and got the snake and she's a real sweety. I don't plan on keeping her but I couldn't let her get shoved in a freezer either.
I'm going to call some of the reptile people in my area and see if they want to trade me for a tortise!

I'm not a snake fan at all but I'm so happy you saved the snake. If I was the girl, I'd reconsider that guy. I couldn't imagine freezing a snake to skin...that is awful. I hope you find a good home for the boa.

Here's a few pictures.

She's a red tail boa. We measured her out at a little over 8ft. She's extreamly friendly. I noticed a lump on her nose and the lady said it was from an old mouse bite. It healed nicely. I didn't notice any scaring on her any where else.

My thought was if he could treat his girl friends pet like that how does he treat her?

Maybe I should send him some snake sh$t for Christmas.

It's a scar. The lady said it had been there for over a year. I checked it out because I was worried about that too!
