I really hate the 'cutesy' names they give the mutts, hate the fact that it's a new 'fad' when mutts have been around for centuries, and it doesn't change the fact that a breed is often times started by creating mutts with a specific look and characteristics. I hate it even more when they are called hybrid dogs. I do know that sometimes mutts are better than 'purebreds' since purebreds may have tendencies to health issues, where-as mixing two or more breeds may (may as in oftentimes but not always) help resolve/remove those health issues... But this is all really off topic....

macattack, the pup sure looks cute! Pictures are a bit dark on this end, but she sounds like quite a little character! As pups often tend to be!

I have a Boston, and I just love her to death!! Funny as hell, took first place in Obedience school.

I'd have more if I could, I just love love LOVE that breed!

They are, however, "terrier-ish"....she hates squirrels, will chase birds outside (actually caught a sparrow and killed it, I'm still mad at her for that). She's very nosy when it comes to other animals......and they can be very territorial. Of all the dogs I've had, I trust her the least with strangers, but once she knows someone she never forgets them. I recommend lots of socialization at a young age, she's never bitten anyone, but I do feel, if she wasn't trained properly, that she would.

I am not keen on these "designer" names given to what is overall a mixed dog of known parentage. They are sold like they are the lastest fashion with these cute sounding names and advertised as "rare" breeds of dogs. The high prices for what is just an ordinary mutt (which of course can be a good pet) is crazy. I am sure there are people out there that like the mixed dog combination (best of both worlds, or the worst of both), but the prices, like I said earlier, are just plain crazy.

I get equally annoyed by ads for dogs that try to advertise their dogs as special in some misgiving way. One example is saying that a specific color type in a pure bred dog is rare, when in fact it is as common as any other color.

What I see from time to time are people who end up with dogs that weren't as purebred as they thought or grew larger than the breeder led them to believe (which for some was the determining reason to get the dog).

Ops, done ranting..lol

So cute, I am very jealous. I had a pug for years who was hit by a car earlier this year. Don't know much about those terriers but pugs are the most amazing dogs. Such clowns, such lovers, and the worlds best cuddlers. Not the worlds brightest dogs, especially when it comes to common sense, but amazing companions, I miss my little guy so much.

We had horses and he was never good around them. I would never trust him out and about with them, but if he was with me he would be behaved because I was the center of his universe. He used to try to run circles around my arabian which I was very suprised he survived unscratched. Boundless energy these guys, up until they get about 4-5 when they seem to get old very suddenly.

He was VERY friendly with everyone! Hugs and kisses all around, he would get so excited if he could meet someone new or someoen he hadn't seen in a few hours. Never showed any signs of aggression towards any person or animal. Got along very well with my fat old cat who I still have.

Aside from the health problems of keeping the wrinkles and eyes clean and making sure they dont develop eye problems which both of those species are very prone to theyre amazing dogs.

I all here's an update... She is doing well, and has acclimated just fine. I have a mini mare and she was kicked by her so now she knows to stay away from both horses. And i have a piggy that doesn't like her much. very jealous. if a pig could be jealous. She runs with the big boys during the day and sleeps with me at night. What is fun is that my two big dogs have softened and become surrogate to her.

I found out she was born in july, and gotten at one of those puppy palace stores... ugh. so i haven't a clue how healthy she is. one round of shots. So vet is coming out soon.

Other than that she is a sweet dog, whatever the breed. The terrier in her makes her alot of fun and she's athletic. And so far has learned to stay away from all the animals. Even the chickens.

greeting card me too. i'm afraid of her getting stepped on or trampled. and luckily she is still a pup so i put her up when i let the big ones out to pasture...so far so good...

So, she's a keeper.

maui if you count the breeder that is 4 homes... The lady that bought her, actually the boyfriend bought her for the lady but her kid they found out was allergic. So off she went to the next house, where my friend has 4 dogs under a year. And potty training just seemed soooo terrible to her after she got the pup there and realized all the work she would be doing, again. So, she came to me. I live across the street. I had been thinking of getting a little dog to keep with me in the house. The bigger ones are on patrol. OR should be. Right now they are lounging in the living room. ugh. So here she is. I've called her beebee... and the birds have already started calling her. She knows that food falls from those cages and she sleeps near it. And twice i have had to get my grey off the floor and beebee just came to find me, started barking to tell me to come get him.. so that was cool.

Other than that, i think she'll fit in nicely. She still isn't trained fully yet. I find little mistakes, always on the newspaper under the cages. So she is trying. just how to get her to make the connection she can bark to go out....

thanks irlgirl...i hope so too.
