That is true... I am lucky in the sense that my cat is extremely lazy and tends to sleep all day and only move if it is to get to her food and/or water (she tends to do both in one trip in order not to waste extra energy...lol)...

And even with that being said... the kitty and the cockatiels rarely ever share the same room...

But many cats do love small little things that happen to fly everywhere. Especially the small little things that fly and get extremely freaked out whenever the kitty's arm happens to get in the cage. It could very easily be a HUGE disaster...

some cats are okay while others aren't in my experience. And cats can be smart! I had 2 birds killed by a cat, she knocked over their cages... She found a new home. She had been here from 6 weeks, and I had her for 6 months or so, still a kitten. That was a year ago.
My other cat, the poor thing, is afraid of her own shadow. People KNOW I have a cat, but never see her. I had her before I had gotten birds, but she had been through bunnies, lizards, snakes, and mice.. afraid of them ALL. She's going to be 5 here coming up on Fathers day. I don't fear for the birds around her-she mostly just lives hiding under my son's toddler bed, I even moved her food and litter box into that room so she'd use them.

So, IMO, it depends on the cat. look all around for the most layed-back, sit around, do nothing kitten. Squishy never played a lot as a kitten.
