UPDATE on BAD PET FOOD BRANDS!

Tiffany, It would be nice if the grocery and pet stores did that but they aren't going to remove product unless mandated. I heard another horror story about an indoor cat dying within a week from symptons of kidney shutdown but the owner couldn't afford all the tests at the vet so she took the cat to the Humane Society to euthanize it to put it out of its pain for a $45 donation. This was a healthy 10 yr old cat gone seriously downhill in 1 week! Makes me wonder about the acetominiphen problem because it happen to Walter so fast! Here is the latest update list from the ASPCA-Remember this is in addition to the other lists that are posted.

PET FOOD RECALL UPDATE: STAY ALERT TO NEW DEVELOPMENTS
With reports that acetaminophen has been found in brands of cat and dog food not included on the Menu Foods recall list, the ASPCA is urging pet parents to stay vigilant to signs of illness in their pets as large doses of acetaminophen can be extremely toxic.

In its continuing efforts to keep the public and concerned pet parents up to date on developments in the pet food recall crisis, the ASPCA has created a list of pet foods recalled due to contamination to date, beginning with the nationwide Menu Foods, Inc., recall on March 16. Please note the following:

- Click on the brand names to find out which products have been recalled.

- Not all foods on this list are part of the Menu Foods and other related recalls. Some foods have been recalled due to other contamination, e.g. salmonella. PLEASE READ THE REASON FOR RECALL CAREFULLY.


- The ASPCA is doing its best to keep this list updated, as far as possible, in real time and as new recalls are made public. However, technical and other issues may sometimes result in a delay, so if you have immediate concerns, please call your pet food manufacturer directly. If your pet shows any sign of illness, please contact your veterinarian IMMEDIATELY.
