Word association.

I currently live with my parents, and they have 2 dogs. 1 French bulldog named Regina and a Draathar named Charlie. Now my father got Charlie with the intention of taking him hunting, as he is bred to be one of the best hunting dogs there is available im told. But my dad is a little on the lazy side and along with work and fishing really hasn't taken him hunting much. Charlie has a high prey drive and loves smaller animals, and this is why im posting this message because I recently bought a sun conure.

Charlie knows what birds are and loves to chase anything that moves. I was just wondering if you guys thought it would be possible to try word association with him, like calling my sun conure "parrot" in front of Charlie instead of "bird". I will never introduce them to each other for fear that anything can happen, But I would like to try this to see if it may help Charlie to lose interest in him.
