Try bantams, they are the size of an african grey, but they'll give you an egg every morning. I had my first chicken when we were living in an apartment, then my cat, my cockatiel, my chicken and my baby african grey used to all sleep together in my cats bed. Those were good old days, now my chicken (Fuzzy) and cockatiel (Dauphin) have passed away and I have my african grey(Shaka zulu) and cat (Sylvester) with me.

I have six of them! Listed below :D They're all silkie bantams, so they don't really have feathers, just fluff- which makes them great cuddle-pies! My rooster comes in sometimes. He used to go for walks with me and fall asleep on the baby swing in the park. When he does come inside, he lets me hold him upside down like a baby. Whe we're out the front yard and call CHOOK CHOOK CHOOK, all 6 fat fluffy chickens come running. There is no front gate, but they don't run away. We have no choice cause the pups would eat them out the back! Anyway, they are considered my pets! I love them all.

My hubby always thinks to have chickens someday. Maybe we will. What sort of characters have they got?
