Actually, the cat's owners can't sue you. I actually saw something similar to this on "Animal Court" on animal planet a few years ago, in which someone's cat got into a yard with a big dog and was mangled, and so the cat's owner was trying to sue the owner of the dog. They actually CAN'T do anything to you. It's up to the owners of the cat to be sure that the cat stays on their own property (of course, however, a cat isn't going to stay on it's own property, which is why I believe it's foolish to allow your cat outside in the first place). Your dogs were confined (hopefully) to their own yard and this cat came onto your property. Huskies are a breed of dogs that just DON'T like cats or any kind of small "prey" animal. It's a habit that with some just can't be broken.

I feel terrible for the poor cat though. I'm just glad he's going to be okay and was reunited with his owners.

My friend rescued a Lab x Pit and with humans and MOST dogs he's great. However the other day when we were walking he got aggressive with another dog. And there was a wild life/by law officer (or whatever they're called! lol) just like across the street and saw the whole thing. The owner of the other dog didn't do anything and just stared at us. And my friend didn't really know what to do. The two dogs are on the ground fighting. Until finally the owner of the other dog kicked my friends dog off. And he still stared at us. My friend apologized and we took off across the street there was the officer(aka cop wanna be) and since her dog once got lose and bit a mail man's bag(don't they all carry food in there anyway? can you really blame the dog.. it didn't bite the person) anyway since he's already had one complaint her dog now has the title of 'Dangerous Dog/Animal' and has top wear a muzzle 24/7 and if caught with out one they will get charged and/or take the dog away. And the other owner didn;t even get a talking to. All because my friend let go of the leash when the dogs lunged at each other. The officer was just really pissed that she apparent didn't have any control of the dog.

Ya some dogs are just aggressive. It's weird. My dog got attacked/shaken as puppy by another dog and now he's very scared of other dogs. And takes a really long time to warm up to them. And it's weird some dogs he'll like hide behind my legs, other dogs he'll like growl at them or try and chase them. But with most he;s fine. And this is Ridgeback i'm talking about lol Scared of other dogs.

Glad the kitty is ok. :)

I hope the kitty will be ok. By the way, My little Shih Tzu is not nippy or yippee. No dog should be either of those. They should not bite large or small.

hows the kitty?
Did you ever locate the owner?

Your dogs arent aggressive they just have a strong hunting instint.
My pomeranian will kill anything she deems as prey, rabbits, rats, mice, cats, birds, lizards, ect.
I really have to keep an eye on her, Ive never seen a dog so good at killing things, if it was my pom in your husky dogs place, you would of had a dead kitty in a matter of seconds, if its small she breaks it neck, if its to big she rips out their throat.
Who would of though it out of a nice little fluffy pomeranian? hehe and people are scared of my wimpy Dobie lol.

The person with a friend with a Lab x Pit mix, from experience in owning "dangerous dog breeds" they should really contact a dog trainer and get that dogs "canine good citizenship award".
With any dog breed that people are biased with, cant be aggressive even in the off case.
They may also want to look into getting their dog a plastic prong or a german training collar (a lot diff. that the ones in say Petco that can injure your dogs neck) Dog Collar Catalog | "Dog Whisperer" John's Natural Dog Odedience / Puppy Classes
That would give them a lot more control over their dog.

I really dont blame people though, when you have 200lb pitties coming out of kennels with names like "Death Row Kennels" I cant fault them. Feel free to disagree but there is a big diff, between this dog:

and this one:
Blue Pit Bulls Pit Bull Kennel Blue Pit Bulls For Sale

Finding a good breeder of a 40lb pretty pittie with the characteristic long and lean look is hard to do. Back when I had pitties people used to mistake them for labs.
