My friends horse Trent had to be humanely Euthanized this morning. I was there all last night while we tried to get him on his feet to no avail. He was an old horse with many health issues but he was kicked hard by another horse and knocked to the ground yesterday. He couldnt get up. We had hopes for him last night as he was up on his breast eating and drinking but by morning he had given up. The vet came, it was over quickly and the pain ended. He was a good old horse for them and the family. He was a teacher. I just had to spend this evening helping to remove him so the other horses could get into the barn. We have a big snowstorm coming in. To top it off I had to come home to bloody pawprints all over my carpet from a cut Pad on one of my heelers from something outside. Among other things going on...when it rains, it pours?
To help Trents mom feel better we are ordering her one of these for her Birthday in Feb. since he will not be buried nearby. I pulled the hairs from him tonight and everybody is going in on one in her birthstone color Purple.
