My dogs

These are our three doggie friends. The first one is my Normie. He's 4. He is a mix of dachshund and who knows what else. He was part of a large group of dogs taken from a house where there were 30-40 dogs plus a dozen or so puppies. The original 4 dogs plus all their offspring were never fixed or separated so the inbreeding was immense. He has a lot of issues and a few health problems (mainly allergies and seizures). He was 7-8 weeks when I got him from a shelter. He didn't know he could hear until he was 4 months old. He's named after Norman Bates because he was so awful as a puppy we called him psycho puppy. I love him dearly. He'll sleep in my arms while I rub his belly and sing to him. I wouldn't trade him for the world.
The next pic is of Rita. She's a french bulldog. She was an impulse buy of Mel's. Her real name is Margarita to remind him of what happens when he drinks. lol She is the friendliest, sweetest, easiest going dog I have ever met. Mel wants to breed her. I'm not sure about it. We haven't made any final decisions on that front.
Last but not least, is Joey. He is a pembroke welsh corgi. He's highly intelligent and eager to please. He prefers woman to men. He was neutered recently and not too happy about it. He's a great dog who learns quickly.
Anyway, these are our barking babies.

aww! What cuties!

Breeding is an exciting but rather expensive proposition. You may want to take some handler classes and polish off her akc papers so you can start showing if you are going to work yourselves up to at least a couple of best in breeds. Plus then you can see first hand which sires sit better with the judges when it comes time to breed.

The breeder you bought her from should be able to help you with things such as whelping pens, diet, vets that specialize in pregnant dogs, and so on. Along with socializing the puppies.

Be prepared for possible problems too, be aware there is a good possibility that you might loose the mother or some of the puppies do to complications. In the case of losing the mother or her rejecting the puppies make sure you know how to take care of them yourself.

Man, now I remember why I wasnt into showing or breeding. Its a lot of work! hope that helps.
