We raised tadpoles last spring. You need to put a rock or island surface in the tank when they start growing there back legs. Thats when they need to start breathing air. If not then they drown. We had about 30-40 tadpoles. The kids enjoyed watching them grow into frogs and then we released them! Also they sell pellets at the pet store for tadpoles, thats what ours ate and it works well!

I had some a few years ago. Once they started coming onto land, I got flightless fruit flies from a reptile store to feed them. They're great because they are super-small for a new frog to eat, plus they can't just fly away ind infest your kitchen!
