If he's 4 months old he probably won't start marking for another 2-4 months if he does at all being an only cat so you would have some leeway with time at least. If you keep good litterbox habits I've had males who never sprayed. The key rule of cats and litterboxes is one per cat and one extra for the house. Clean at least once per day.

Okay, I'm just wondering... how will you move out next year if you don't have a job? Not that I don't trust your reasoning. I'm just thinking "I wish!"

Also, my mom told me I could not adopt a pair of rats (same sex), until I move out. Well, there's no light at the end of the tunnel for me. Since I'm unemployed and going to school. So, I'm just hoping that if I take the brunt of the bad luck, you're situation will actually work out. I wouldn't take the kitten in until you have presented your plan to mom and she agrees.

I do admire you for wanting to take this kitten in. Half blind and all.

Haha good question there Junco! I have plans ;) I will also be sharing rent with a friend. I will get a job soon! I am looking at the moment!

When my mum told my brother he couldn't have rats, he brought two home anyway with no problem (except of course I ended up being their carer!) My mum is a softy- but without her permission, I would only bring home a pet I could afford myself.

And thanks, we all have our little problems, he just happened to be born with a dud eye.

Oh my, so it's a habit for your bro huh? I can afford the rats fine, I even got a nice cage. My mom is a softy too, but I couldn't live with the guilt of going behind her back like that. I'm just a momma's girl inside.

Aw that's a nice conscience you have there :) Usually it's a charity case when I go behind my mum's back. eg. When I was around 9, I brought home a cat that was abused by its previous owner's two bratty boys (used to swing him around by his front legs... also smashed some bird eggs that I had tried to protect- I hated them!) They were moving away and would either find a new home for their cats or take them with them, so I took one even though mum said no.

My duck Binx was likely gonna end up in a restaurant dish!

Well, I understand completely... in fact, guess who's got a young rat now.

Her story was not a good one either, and hopefully she won't be under my care long. She's been with me over 24hrs now. I saw her running in circles in the parkinglot on campus. I couldn't just leave knowing she'd get hit again.

Here's a video of her, and I'm sure you would have done the same. That is, if you're a rat person...

I am most certainly a rat person! I love rats! I would have done the same thing. What a coincidence that you found a rat after wanting one so bad. That seems the same with me and my kitten, but I wasn't able to get him :(

Does that mean he found a home then, or did you make the tough decision that it's just not time yet. I have been there so many times when I volunteer at the shelter. Sometimes you have to accept, though you care so deeply for this special creature, there really is nothing you can do.

*Hugs to you*
