Unhappy Pray for us!

Just thought I would share to get it off my chest! Five years ago my mom bought me a female Boston Terrier who we named Maggie, at that time my bf and I planned to move out in about a month, but some things feel through and we had to stay with my parents, and then I get sick last year and couldn't do it then. Well we just moved out this past April finally, but Maggie was so attached to my mom and dad and the other Boston and Pup that they have, plus they are a huge fenced in yard that she was used to and someone is home everyday all day with them. So I didn't have the heart to take her away from all that! All last Sunday my mom calls me and says something is wrong with Maggie, she can't walk on her back legs and she is having trouble breathing!! I burst into tear thinking she was going to die, they thought maybe she swallowed a bee or got into an ate something. Well it wasn't either of those, she slipped a disk in her back!! She is only five years old and is in excellent shape, she is our athletic dog! She loves to run and jump and play! So the vet said, because they brought her in so quick she should recover. She goes twice a week for laser treatments to take down the swelling in her back. They said if she doesn't improve a great deal in two weeks, then the only other options are to put her to sleep or a $3000.00 surgery! I cried, but my mom assured me they would do what they needed to, that they won't put her to sleep. I have the best parents in the world! So now at about a week after it happened she is walking better, she is still on constant pain meds to get her comfortable, but she is in great spritis! It's just so hard to see her like that, because she is very outgoing! It took my awhile after I moved out get used to not being with her everyday, and then this happens! I have my new boston Scooter now and I love him to deah, but I feel terrible for her!

Sorry for the long post, just needed to get my feelings off my chest, thanks for listening.

Goodness, she is bright... with her ears up and all. Good Spirited, pretty girl. I have been around Bostons... they don't sit still. Loves balls. Will chase anything. Hard to cuddle with. Verry cute.

Have you thought of putting her on a wellness plan? As much as I hate Petsmart aka Petco. I have my kittie on one of their plans. It saves me tons of money (she has bad periodontics and needs deep cleaning twice a year... the insurance saves me about $700.00 a pop.) Not to mention in covers all vaccinations. (Careful, they do have a habit of over vaccinating.) Just a thought. It would decrease the cost if you put her on a plan. You would just have to pay for any meds afterwards and and the anesthesia, but pretty much everything else is covered. They have different plans to choose from. Just a thought. I think the $800 and some odd dollars they bill is before the insurance ends up with me paying around $75.00.

I will keep you and Maggie in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure she will be fine. Keep us posted.
