Thats what Im hearing

I have used Frontline, Advantage, AdvantageMulti, and Advantix. I really saw no difference in them, maybe the Advantage products were more greasy, but everyone has their favorite that they swear by.
They are different chemicals though

Now, Promeris is one that I don't care for, just because of the smell. It would be a great product, but you have to apply a really large volume and they try to cover up the chemical smell with a "eucalyptus" scent. It's strong and it lingers. Otherwise, it wasn't as greasy and repelled ticks well.
Wont be going there anytime soon, sounds YUK!,lol

My new favorite is Vectra 3D. I have only applied it once, but I really liked how the liquid soaked right into the dogs skin and didn't leave a grease spot for days like Advantix. It was easy to apply, with no smell.
Want OTC

I haven't had a dog have a reaction to any of these products. I think for some dogs the Advantix burns/tingles a little when you first apply it,
Guess I wont try that either

but most don't mind. My cat did have a reaction to Frontline, but it didn't require medical treatment.

Personally, Frontline Plus has been working well for me with dogs and cats. However, I have read that fleas are developing immunity to methoprene (the insect growth inhibitor in Frontline), and Nylar is more effective. However I haven't seen any flea drops product on the market yet that uses Nylar instead of methoprene in them.

Are you sure the products are not working? Many people don't understand HOW the flea drops work. The product kills fleas when they jump onto the animal and bite the animal. The fleas ingest the flea killer when they bite the animal and the blood they suck is their last deadly cocktail they will ever get to drink.

When treating for fleas you have to treat the environment as well. Usually by the time fleas attract human notice, they have established a large population in the house already.
