laid one egg

help, my parrotlet ChuChi layed one egg two weeks ago and still won't come out of the cage, she is looking very bad cause she is not eating.
also, she is kept in a dimly room because we have a large cat, when i let her out she is happy but when i am gone she stays on the egg and won't move. what can i go, i am stress thinking she is going to die on me

First off you can probably remove the egg now for her safety and you need to get her into normal light for her health. Make sure she gets at least 10-12 hours (12 better) of good darkness for sleep and to help stop egg laying. She doesnt have a normal mate to feed her while she sits so you need to get her into NON laying mode asap. I cannot strees enough you need to do what is right for the bird and keeping her in a dimley lit room all the time is no good.
