Exclamation My Emma is Biting....

Emma, is a parrotlet and I've had her for one week.
I got her from a breeder and she told me that she was stinker and a bully.
To get her out of her cage.. she will bite and lunge at me or whomever.
Once of her her cage she is as sweet.. she may try to bite...but, I then put my finger on her beak and tell her no biting. she usually stops.
how can I get around her nt' biting.
She is precious.
is there anything I can do to help that.
I want her to be happy..
I know once out of her cage..she luvs to go by my neck and cuddle and make sounds with her beak.. which I've heard means that she's content...
I've tried fruit and veggies and she isn't interested. she did take a small bit of banana today...
thanks,
shannon

seems she is cage territorial. you need to work with her away from the cage to show her you are safe. A week is really not much time. she will come around and you will gain her trust.
I know they have a bit behind them.

If your 'let is a Quaker, the species (as I have read from many places) is Cage Territorial. My boys are, and they are Quaker Brothers. The second they are off the cage, they are great (for the most part).
