Molting Solo

My parrotlet is the only bird I have. She has been molting for awhile now, really it's just a few feathers on her head and the back of her neck.

She rarely lets me give her a good head rub so many of the pins are left to her devices. she spends most of her down time in her cage scratching her head with her little feet. this has resulted in many dull and broken feathers as well as, I am sure, a dry scalp.

Does everyone else with only one parrotlet have this problem? what can i do to help her?

SHe hasn't been taking as many baths lately which I would think would help.

Any suggestions?

I would increase the bathing. My parrotlet gets a mist bath 6 days a week and it helps.

I am having the same problem. I just separated my parrotlet from another bird, and hes started his molt and wont let me give him head rubs ! He never takes baths, either, and he hares being misted. i've only ever seen him take one bath, when he was copying my conure, but now they are separated and seems to hate water again!. hopefully yours likes baths. :S
