Question

I found a feather on the floor today that either came from Toc's tail, or wings. How can i tell if this feather was plucked by him, or just fell out due to molting? . I know that a few months ago he molted some of his talk feathers.. but im not sure if this is one he's molting too, cause i dont see any pin feathers...

The end of the feather was pointed.. if this makes a difference or not..

Hey Emmilyy!! My money is on molting : ) I have found that Pogo tends to molt 3 to 4 times a year, some of them very mild but treaditionally the one in the spring is the heaviest. It may be that this is a light molt but I suspect in a day or 2 you will start seeing a few pin feathers here and there. My best advice is keep an eye on Cookiebird but relax. If I worried everytime I saw a stray feather I'd go crazy!! Early on I even felt compelled to keep the feathers thinking magically I'd come up with a use for them, besides bookmarks....

thanks for the advice, and i was actually talking about my sisters Parrotlet Toc, and the reason i'm so worried is because he has a history of plucking and shredding his feathers and i dont want him to get back in that habit. :S
